The Samuel J. Kauffman House became available for occupancy in 1995.
Through the SJK House, SCCHS provides for a maximum of
two years for one family with children transitioning into
home ownership. Each family selected to occupy the modern three
bedroom home is given the opportunity to establish a housing saving
account in which 1/2 of their rent is contributed
toward their home ownership fees.
The 108 House was purchased in 2000 as a 2-year transitional house
for a family needing time to become stabilized and financially
secure before moving on to a more permanent location.
Residents of SJK and 108 House are required to adhere
to the following:
Mandatory participation in recognized comprehensive
case management for home ownership preparation and
total family needs. I.E.
First State Community Action Agency or NCALL
Mandatory participation in the SJK Program through SCCHS
Up to 1 to 2 year residency
The Tenant will maintain the grounds, rental insurance, utilities, and rental fees
