The Crisis House is an emergency shelter for homeless men,
women and children primarily in Sussex County,
but will accept admissions from Kent and New Castle Counties.
Admissions will be accepted at any time space is available.
Referrals may come from the following sources including a self-referral.

Homelessness

Heads of households are 18 years of age or older

Not already served with in the previous 6 months

Must complete an outstanding warrants and sexual offender check at the local police dept.
Admission to the Crisis House will be without regard to race,
color, religion, creed, age, national origin or ancestry,
marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation or status as
a qualified disabled or handicapped individual.
Residents are provided with a comprehensive, cost free service
including but not limited to: three daily meals, counseling and
referral assistance, informative workshops and transportation for
housing and job search. Residents are expected to abide by
House rules and to take advantage of their thirty-day residency
by actively pursuing housing and employment opportunities
toward achieving the goals of situational and financial stabilization.
